  I Should Post More
There's a lot to report, I suppose, but mostly I'm upset about the the Abdul Rahman situation in Afghanistan. Strangely, that makes me grateful that I have the luxury of being primarily worried about that, but back to the topic. All that blood and money and this outrage can still happen. It isn't entirely, or maybe even mostly true, but it's hard for me not hear the same Who lyric in my head, over and over: "meet the new boss/same as the old boss." It is a relief that Rahman will likely have the charges against him dropped, but it's far more depressing that a) He might well (read: almost certainly) have to flee the country to avoid being murdered, and even more depressingly b) the prosecution and sentence are legal under the new Afghan Constitution. Thank you, U.S. State Department. You were certainly correct to tell us all not to worry about all of that Sharia business in their new Constitution. Well done, you Foggy Bottom jerkoffs.

Mr. Rahman, I live a less than a mile away from Little Kabul here in the U.S. Please join us here. It will be hard for you to start over, but at least the chance of being murdered for your religious beliefs will be greatly lessened.

I will happily kick in a few bucks to make this happen. Does anyone know how I could help to bring that about?
